Sure it has a browser, check open.neurostechnology.com/content/future-hardware for my blog posting supporting your point exactly.
3  Neuros Tablet / Neuros Tablet- Feedback and Discussion / Re: Is Android the IBM PC of Our Generation? on: October 27, 2010, 12:21:23 pm
Yep, I don't think there's any question that you get it.  I don't think its so much resistance to learning something new that causes resistance, I think its a combination of the close up view that custom is smaller, simper and more efficient, the lack of appeal of working with "someone elses" high level system, and the fact that low level hackers often don't like high level systems at all (for many of them, that's why they became low level hackers)
4  Neuros LINK / Neuros LINK - I need help! / Re: Phantom Fans not so quiet on: October 27, 2010, 12:16:49 pm
First of all let me apologize profusely, I don't know how this got through QC.  There is something wrong.  The phantom is literally inaudible from a few feet away in all but the quietest environments, at least when its working correctly.

When you go to the bios settings what speeds does it show for the two fans?  It should be in the neighborhood of 1000 rpm or less.

I wrote up a blog posting to try to articulate the reason we're in the Android business and why we see it as potentially so significant: open.neurostechnology.com/content/future-hardware
6  Neuros LINK / Neuros LINK - I need help! / Re: Boxee Install on: October 21, 2010, 05:23:33 pm
I thought I read somewhere boxee was pre-installed on the link but i cant find it anywhere.
so i tried to download and install it but it wont install i get the following error;
Sorry for the slow response,  ChadV is actually working on a version with Boxee installed, which hopefully will be available very shortly, would you like to wait for that or prefer to try to walk through fixing what you are doing?
7  Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - Feedback and Discussion / Re: My Neuros OSD Experience after 3 years use on: October 21, 2010, 05:21:19 pm
bless you for this message.  As you can imagine, the typical satisfied customer never shows up to the forum to make a post like this, so its really meaningful to us to see this.  Thank you!

have you tried calibrating the screen?

I'm not sure I've noticed a lot of inaccuracy from the resistive, I'm not sure.  I have a heck of a time typing on the screen of my samsung epic and that's capacitive.  I can't use a stylus there because its capacitive, thankfully, I have a physical keyboard on that device.

well, I'm very eager to follow along, I'll be happy to help document it, I know others will be interested in a guide.  As you probably know, there's been much more activity on the mailing list on this, but I'll be monitoring both and attempting to cross post as appropriate.

But none of the Android source, right?  The firmware you are going to build will just be Linux?
11  Neuros Tablet / Neuros Tablet- Feedback and Discussion / Re: Axon? on: October 18, 2010, 11:35:44 am
I thought the Axon tablet was based on a 1.6Ghz Atom, and not ARM based, and has a 10" screen etc....

I think we have a trademark conflict here.  We need to figure that out, there's no association with the Axon Logic stuff.

It would be nice if it had an infrared output so it could emulate remote controls.

yes, we've been talking about just this feature.  No firm plans yet, but we're figuring it out.

It would be nice if it had rf support that let it use the same rf keyboard as the link,
I see this happening either through an IR dongle receiver and above IR output or via Wifi, I can't see adding proprietary 2.4 GHz (or bluetooth frankly)

It would be much better if it charged through a usb cable.
agreed, we'll try to get this in a future version

It would be nice if it had usb host support to be able to use a usb keyboard with it.
I think as a controller, this is a bit far afield for where we're going with the device.

It seems to run pretty hot, have fairly  short battery life per charge, and not support sleep/hibernate?
the slatedroid firmware does much better on the heat, power and battery life.  Try flashing with that, and see what you think.  go to the Wiki Page[url] for a link and instructions.

The specs posted seem off from the model I have....

The processor is a 300Mhz one, and the memory slot is microsd not sd.  The box also claims 11n support
but my 11n network is 5Mhz so I can't test to see if that is right.

This was bad information from the factory, we've updated now, sorry for misleading folks.  We posted what the factory gave us in good faith not realizing it was wrong.  I'm really sorry about this and will, of course, accept any returns for anyone that was mislead and wants to return the unit.  We'll waive the normal return period and pay for return shipping, etc.

14  Neuros Tablet / Neuros Tablet- Feedback and Discussion / Re: Axon? on: October 18, 2010, 11:16:07 am
I fnally just got around to unpacking my tablet today to start to but what I got seems to be an eken based tablet not an Axon.  Did that base hardware model get switched already?

Both Eken and the Axon are based off the same reference design and basic industrial design if that's what you mean, but the display and wifi components are improved.  Is that what you mean?
