We are testing a new firmware that will solve this issue. Expect a beta version of this firmware to be available later this month.

If we can reproduce the issue, we will send you a new unit.
3  Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - I need help! / Re: Getting a framerate stutter on: March 28, 2009, 10:45:45 pm
Small correction, the frame rate for NTSC is 30,and 25 for PAL.
4  Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - I need help! / Re: Sony PSP questions after moving from MPEG-4 Recorder to OSD on: March 27, 2009, 01:57:41 pm
320x240 is what you should use. To get the content to play in the widescreen format, use the PSP joystick (you have an option to resize the video, I just can't recall what button it is right now but it is not to hard to find).
5  Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - I need help! / Re: Problems to upgrade to Arizona on: March 27, 2009, 01:55:35 pm
Try to reformat the card, it might have some messed up sections. When the OSD scans them it raises red flags and tell the unit not to use the card for an upgrade since it could brick it.  If you have another card handy, format it and try it if the above still does not work.

Also try to download the firmware again, the version you have could be corrupted.

7  Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - Feedback and Discussion / Re: Is the OSD dead? on: March 23, 2009, 05:42:50 am
If you want to be able to record, the OSD remains your number one choice, as the OSD 2.0 remains a developer kit.

If you are interested in video playback only, you might want to check out the Neuros LINK too. I have not personally used Popcorn Hour yet, but since it is based on an embedded chipset, it will not be able to play all the formats the LINK can handle (the LINK has played all the files I have thrown at it to date). It also will not be able to play Flash content (unless it is decoded and streamed from a PC).

Sorry for the sales push there, but as a Neuros ermployee, I guess it is my duty to so  Grin

Jokes, aside, if there are some OSD and LINK owners who want to comment, please to do so.
8  Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - Feedback and Discussion / Re: USB port is just a teaser? on: March 23, 2009, 05:32:53 am
Here I thought I had a handy device for recording and playback to/from an external USB drive (FAT). But recording to or playback from a USB drive simply stops after about a minute. When this happens, the USB drive often simply vanishes from the menus and only a reboot will make the drive appear again in the menus. Very unpredictable.

So far, the only thing that seems to work is recording to and playback from my SD cards. So when I want to watch something, I need to manually copy it to the SD card.

I have seen several other (older) posts about problems with USB devices, but am I to assume this will simply never get fixed? I am a tech geek and I don't mind tweaking and trying. But so far, the entire OSD experience has been disappointing...

Sorry for the rant. But I am curious how other people deal with this. Thanks.

We will exchange your unit and test yours.

10  Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - I need help! / Re: No color with svideo on: March 19, 2009, 02:28:35 pm
It is likely because you did not enable the S-Video input option under settings. Go to Settings/Video Input and select SVideo.  When you go back to composite, you will have to select the Composite input in the same menu.
11  Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - I need help! / Re: Scheduled recording freeze on: March 17, 2009, 10:59:48 am
Good to see the issue has been fixed. To transfer files, we highly recommend using the PC, it has much more memory and power to get this done more efficiently than the Neuros OSD, especially for big files. If you want use the cut/paste option with the OSD, do so with smaller files. It will not be as fast as with a PC, but it will handle it just fine.

Also remember to format your storage regularly enough to avoid excessive fragmentation, which could lead to issues during recording and playback (note that deleting files is not enough, only a format cleans up the storage, just back up any file you need before doing so).

14  Neuros LINK / Neuros LINK - Feedback and Discussion / Re: 4-moth warranty, then what? on: March 13, 2009, 04:24:14 pm
As Joe said in his post above, you have a 12 month warranty for parts and service. As for more details about the Gamma program, check out our wiki for more info, it is a quite comprehensive overview of what this program is about and what it means to you:

If there is a question that has not been addressed, please let us know and we will update the Wiki.
15  Neuros LINK / Neuros LINK - Feedback and Discussion / Re: Similar devices to the Link? on: March 13, 2009, 04:18:40 pm
No mention of the LINK Shocked, outrage.

Jokes apart, they are not way behind the times IMO, it is more that you guys are a little ahead. It is just a mainstream outlet talking to mainstream consumers. It is a good sign to see NPR talk about this subject though.
