1  Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - Feedback and Discussion / OSD starting to show its age. What to replace it with? on: January 28, 2014, 01:43:25 pm
Well, gang, my OSD has developed a weird "rainbow" effect around all its on-screen displays.  I take it to mean that it's probably on its last legs.  For a piece of computing hardware to have lasted 7 years is pretty amazing.  But when it's time to go, it's time to go.

What is your favorite OSD replacement?  I'd like to record tv shows from a SD cable signal.  I've also got a 1.5 terabyte external hard drive filled with 640x480 video, all encoded with XVID and stored as AVI files, perfect for playing on Neuros OSD.  I'd like to play them on the new box without converting them, if possible.

Does anyone have any recommendations for what I should get to replace the OSD?
2  Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - I need help! / Re: OSD Firmware 3.33-2.08-09.86o plays back ALL BLACK randomly.. anyone seen this? on: September 19, 2008, 10:03:43 am
This happens to me too.  Firmware 33.33-y.72.  On certain occasions, the playback will consist of a totally black video with perfect audio.  If I stop the playback and restart, it almost always plays normally.  On very, very rare occasions, it plays black video two times in a row: if I start it a third time, it plays just fine.

Yeah, that's what I had to do.  It fixed everything

4  Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - I need help! / Scheduler only records first program of the day... on: May 11, 2008, 09:24:54 am
...and only if it is before noon!

I just got a Neuros OSD, and soon after I upgraded to 3.33-1.75-02.849 and then immediately to 3.33-2.05-04.84a, the Arizona beta.  I found the current Arizona to be too harsh, so after a day I downgraded back to 02.849.

Now Neuros will only record the first scheduled event for any given day, and only if the first event is before noon!   If I try to automatically record something in the PM, Neuros accepts the schedule, but at the given time nothing happens.   A similar thing happens if I try to record two programs overnight, in the early hours of the morning -- the first one records just fine, the second (and subsequent) program is just ignored.

Has anyone come across this before?  I haven't seen anything in the forums about it.  Is there anything I can do about this?
