Well, gang, my OSD has developed a weird "rainbow" effect around all its on-screen displays.  I take it to mean that it's probably on its last legs.  For a piece of computing hardware to have lasted 7 years is pretty amazing.  But when it's time to go, it's time to go.

What is your favorite OSD replacement?  I'd like to record tv shows from a SD cable signal.  I've also got a 1.5 terabyte external hard drive filled with 640x480 video, all encoded with XVID and stored as AVI files, perfect for playing on Neuros OSD.  I'd like to play them on the new box without converting them, if possible.

Does anyone have any recommendations for what I should get to replace the OSD?
