Just got some highlights uploaded to Youtube... video taken using the R2, of course, with two Sony 420line bullet roof cameras and a quad processor for video merging (realtime):

(PS - the best stuff is the rain racing - particularly the Race 2 Sunday Class Race clips - heavy rain!)

Wow, thats an awesome video.  I need to do something like that once i get into auto-x.  I can have 1 camera on the tach, 1 on the rear, and 1 facing toward the inside of the car.  Man, great job.

Great videos! PIP works well for the 2 camera setup.  Did you use one of the mi-kam aux control boards for on/off/record?

Your vid clip of 2006 end of season rocks!  Brings back happy memories of car club trackdays.

Aiming for similar setup with Recorder2 for motorcycle application, though it's easy to run out of room for electronics in the tank bag!

Nice video! I race a 944-spec car, and I'm really liking the roof as the location for my bullet cam... pretty much the same angle yours is at. Unfortunately, I had to revert to using my camcorder this past weekend because the 5V power regulator I made for my R2 was giving me a little trouble.

Cheers! No, I haven't gotten one of the mi-kam boards, but need to get one... it's on the list. I especially could use one now, as while the quad processor does fire up automagically once it's got power - it always has to be switched from quad to PIP mode each time. At least I've got a crew guy to do that, thankfully it's on a remote! Wink

Good to see the Waterford track. I used to go, well over 20 years ago with my 73 TR6. Loved the place. Keep up the great work.

Nice Racing Videos with the multi camera setup. Thanks for sharing.

These little Neuros Recorders simply rock !!! When I installed my Neuros 2+ and a Sony 420 bullet camera in my 911, I also purchased and sent the same setup to my dad for his Formula 3000.

Hi
Thanks for the info, I have a helmet cam and want to hook it up to my Neuros 2 I have the connection thing figured out what I was wondering is how do you tell if its working when you turn it on to record before you race, currently I use my camcorder and can look in the camera to ensure its working.

Thanks again.

Thanks again.

The way I do it is before I go out on the track:

1) Connect to the power (green LED)
2) Press {Power On} on the remote (LED still green)
3) Wait 3-5 second to let Neuros bootup
4) Press the {Record Button} on the remote. Note the LED will be red if it is recording, otherwise the may be a problem with the memory card (full or not compatible format).
5) After your run session take the remote and press the {Record Button} again to stop recording and then press the {Power Off} button.

VORSICHT: If you turn off the Neuros or unplug it without pressing stop recording, the last recording will be lost.

It is so much easier than dealing with Video Recorder and Tapes. No waiting to importing the DV movie, just plug in the SD/CF card reader into your computer and copy the files over.

This reminds me, if you run Mac OS X, the VLC player plays the Mpeg4 files much smoother than the Quicktime Player.

Hope this helps.

Nice work Smiley

I have noticed you have the camera at the front of the car.

Has anyone ever looked at mounting it behind the driver? We have a rally car and have been having some issues with glare on the windscreen affecting our camera (it is a cheapy though).

Had some bumper footage that was awesome, but would like to try behind the driver (we had some behind the driver stuff that was washed white)

Thanks
