My Neuros recorder came in a "Recorder 2" box but has an MJB2400 label on the bottom.  Does this mean it's really an original (earlier) model?  I read somewhere that the later "Recorder 2" should say NRS 4030200 on the bottom.

The one I got does have both memory stick and MMC/SD as well as CF slots.  I only need the SD slot, but would like to be sure it's an upgraded model in terms of conversion quality. . .

Does anyone know how to distinguish the models?

Well the Recorder 1, the only way to distinguish it, is to check the back, does it have a TV/PC switch?  If so then thats the first Recorder.  The Recorder 2 just has the CF and Memory Stick slot, the Recorder 2+ has both those, and a SD slot.  Hope this helps.
