I searched the bugzilla, and the bugs suggest to me that people are having more luck than I am so suspect my problem isn't a bug.

When I try the video editor I can make a clip and then use "Clip as new file", and when I hit save I immediately get back to the screen where I choose the editor.   I look for the file that I chose, and it never saved.  It is as if 'save' and 'cancel' do the same thing (IE: nothing).

I'm running the 'beta' version of the software:  3.33-1.73-04.81t

I'm curious what other peoples experience is?

Entirely separate:  are there any Linux (Fedora in my case) desktop users who have recommendations for simple tools to make clips?  I had thought I could use ffmpeg for this, but when I use the '-t' option it doesn't seem to do anything (IE: instead of only the size of file I expected, I get a copy of the entire file).   I don't need something with a front end, so something with a command line that would allow me to type in a series of start/stop times would be great.  Essentially a command-line tool to do the type of thing the video editor is trying to do -- maybe even the same tool, although I don't know what the OSD is using under the hood.
