I imported my library of 100 gb into NSM. Sometimes the artist field got mangled, so I went through and retagged the artist field using NMM. Now, when I open those files in WMP or Songbird, the artist field is a bunch of Chinese characters. So if I rename then all AGAIN with WMP or a tag editor, will NSM not see them anymore?

The same thing has happened with the genre field.

Any ideas?

I would say fix the tags in whatever player you normally use on the PC (Songbird would probably be easiest) and see if NSM shows them properly.

If not, switch to NDBM, as it doesn't edit the tags in the file, just the listing in the database on the Neuros.  When using NDBM, you'll have to put songs on the Neuros either by drag-n-drop, then a rebuild, which would lose any edited listings, or File>Add for each song (or group of songs in a single directory) that you want to add.
