now that technology has advanced i'd still pay $US
ontop of my trade in of the version1 if I got the following:

1. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT feature
projector built within the machine. 3M already makes a pocket size projector.
If Neuros's  442v2 played all media, projected video and was still about the
same size as a 70s SLR camera the MARKET WOULD BE THIERS!!!!!!
2. SD slot that doesnt trap cards. IE don't let the card slide in all the way
3. simple interface file/folder browser with tag browsing & history
4. flac, ogg, mkv support. if VLC can play it so should the 442
5. Proper subtitles support
6. better recording using opensource formats for video and audio.
7. A levels monitor for audio recording using the LCD screen.
8. S-video out
9. a docking station with DVI outputs & optical digital audio outputs
10. ability to recharge the battery via USB (canada air has usb ports on their planes for ipods)
11. PDF reader with zoom function would be good enough for maps and books.
full ebook support is not necessary.
12. WIFI is not really needed since it would just eat up battery from the projector and LCD
13. an ORGANIC LCD option would be great if it really saved battery power.
14. games support would probably help sales numbers too but thats a whole nother headache

I still use mine, but only as portable storage.
It works great to store photos on vacation (no need to bring a laptop).
However since its horrible at playing media it kinda sucks as a media player.

I'm still waiting patiently for the next one

i invested in that 442v1 i still believe i will get my 442v2
though iriver is releasing this goliath:
http://www.iriver.eu.com/multifunction_player.html?p_id=768&L=&view=features

a small device focused on media playing and projecting will conquer all.
having windows on a machine and games and voip is just too much

a projector and a video player is the key
people will get a small device plus nice viewing area!
I could see runway models premiering the media player
projecting videos on each other as they pass the catwalk

add a simple ability to zoom in and out of jpg and pdf files
and simple audio support mp3-ogg-flac and it will rule the world i promise
