For example, J River's media center is a windows based media center.  Can I download their media center onto Neuro link and use it just like I would on my PC?  I use it mainly for my music collection (not DRM based).

I have tried, yet.  Thought I'd ask before making an attempt.

Also, will Zune software download onto the Neuro link?

Thanks

well, the first answer is that the LINK runs Ubuntu Linux, so your first place to look for downloaded software is the Ubuntu/Linux community:   Right within the user interface there's a very simple add/remove programs feature that allows you to easily browse and add all kinds of stuff.  I attached a screen shot so you can get an idea of the first handful in the multimedia category.  It's a very large collection of free applications that install in a snap.  It's all aggregated for you, so there's no need to google to find what you need.

The second answer is that the LINK does support windows applications through a windows emulator called WINE.  I'm not familiar with the specific application that you mentioned. so I can't say how well supported it is in WINE, but if it's popular, there's a reasonable chance it is.

We chose Linux over Windows because we feel overall its the best offering for a device like this.  It's fast, customizable (open source) has a huge ecosystem of applications, and a massive community.   However, support for Windows applications is obviously not as good as Windows itself, so if you are committed to a bunch of windows applications, that's something you'll have to consider.  Technically, it's certainly possible to install Windows on the LINK, but it's not something we're officially supporting at this point.

Paul,
It doesn't seem that getting the Zune to work on the LINK will be an easy experience.
As JoeBorn mentioned, you would have to emulate Windows on the LINK.
There's more here, if you are interested: http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/zune-hacks-mods/2772-zune-linux-progress-2.html

No, I forgot.  I remember reading now about no Windows.  And I understand completely.  Makes a lot of sense to me.
